What is the most important thing in the world to you—getting married, having children, the perfect career, a better house? Or perhaps you desire a nice boat, or at least friends with a nice boat? Is the most important thing in life living long enough to see your children all grown up and supporting themselves? Could you be saving for retirement because that is important to you? After all, money will always be needed.
What is the most important thing in the world to you?
The answer depends on your circumstances. If you are without food and water, all of a sudden those two things are essential. If you are stranded somewhere, the most important thing in the world becomes your rescue. If your health begins to deteriorate, important food and lifestyle changes become a priority.
What is the most important thing in the world to you?
There will come a time in our lives where we have to face death. For instance, there is no one living who fought in or lived through the Civil War at this present time in history; they have all died. Death is very natural, although we avoid it with everything in us.
To a person facing death, the most important things in life are getting married, having children, a well-paying job, or money. The most important thing in their life should be Jesus. The new question is “Am I prepared to meet God? Am I prepared for eternity?”
What is the most important thing in the world to you?
Christians believe that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NIV).
The most important thing in the world is to accept the gift of eternal life from God. We do that by confessing our sin and expressing personal faith in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Once we die God takes us to live with Him for all eternity.
Though some people scoff at Christians and say we are wrong, stating that Heaven is ‘make-believe’ and death is the end, I am confident Christians are right.
But what if Christians are wrong? If Christians are wrong, when we die we will simply cease to exist. But what if the nonbelievers are wrong? They, too, will die. Except for them, they will face God unprepared.
I’ll take my chances with Jesus.
