TO: All Original Free Will Baptists
From: Gary M. Bailey
Subject: Doors Opening and Doors Closing
In December 2016, a door I had not expected opened for me. I was contacted by members of the Convention Executive Committee asking if I would be interested in the Director of Convention Services position. After prayer and discussion with the Committee, the position was formally offered, and I accepted the job. I began work on Monday, January 2, 2017.
In the eight years since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed my work with the Convention, which works with Free Will Baptist all across the eastern half of North Carolina. Through those eight years, I have learned very much. I hope I have been able to be helpful to others at the same time. I have seen firsthand just how generous and genuine Free Will Baptists are.
I genuinely thank all of you for the opportunity to serve as your Director of Convention Services. It has been a great pleasure.
God has opened another door, again that I was not expecting. Beginning in January, I will work with the Micro OFWB Church as their full-time Pastor. Once God calls you to be a pastor, you never get far away from that. It will be good to be back in the saddle.
Ms. Tricia Bristow is now the administrative assistant in the Convention Service Office. She will be glad to help you with any of your requests. You can contact her at 919-299-4553 or triciabristow@ofwb.org.
Although I will not answer the phone in the Convention office, I am not disappearing from our denomination. I have made many friends as an OFWB Minister and look forward to seeing you in many familiar places.
My email address is garymbailey@bellsouth.net.
