March is Foreign Mission Month

Writer: FeatureFeature

Dear Partners in Missions,

Thank you for your generous support for Foreign Missions throughout the years. Your contributions have helped reach many with the Gospel Message of Salvation through Jesus Christ. Other contributions have helped build churches and parsonages, establish schools and children’s homes, feed the children in those schools or homes, and a myriad of other special projects. None of this is possible without you.

In mid-2024, we received word that one of our workers, a young woman, developed a large tumor in the shoulder joint. The local hospital suggested amputating her arm, but with donated funds, we helped have her referred to a specialist who safely removed the tumor and saved her arm.

Recently, there was a flood in Palawan, Philippines. The flood waters covered much of the island and many homes, schools, and churches. The videos inside the school showed the flood waters above the knees. The people were resourceful and resilient, and they managed to save much of their belongings. Still, some repairs were outside of their ability to perform. We sent money to fund the needed repairs to the school.

We shared a video from one of our Bulgarian couples working in Varna through social media. They were reporting on recent gospel crusades throughout their region. Hundreds have heard the gospel at these tent-style meetings, and many have been saved. Follow us on Facebook “Original FWB International

As of the time of this letter, you are supporting…

· 122 churches in the Philippines

· Two very large churches in Bulgaria (Varna & Balchik)

· Six schools in Liberia (1,086 students & 61 teachers/leaders)

· 39 Churches in Liberia & Guinea

· One New Church in Angola (Our Newest Field)

· 42 Ordained Pastors in Liberia, Guinea, and Angola

· 12 workers in Haiti (One school and one large church)

· 36 pastors and 17 schoolteachers in India

· One Leprosy Home in West Bengal, India

· 11 Pastors and three teachers in Mexico

· …and more.

Your giving is so important to help fulfill the Great Commission!

In 2024, giving from individuals and churches was noticeably lower than in previous years. The Board and I believe this was a result of the devastation in Western North Carolina and the recovery and rebuilding efforts there. We applaud those efforts and are thankful for everyone who responded out of Christian compassion to support our fellow North Carolinians and beyond. However, donations to international missions were strained as friends supported the recovery efforts—completely understandable and laudable.

The Board of Foreign Missions made the necessary cuts and reallocated funds to get us through the difficult season. However, giving today barely meets the budget needed to fund the fields. We ask that you consider donating to missions this March to support the missional effort established more than fifty years ago. If funds continue to be strained, the Board will have no choice but to cut funding to fields. Please make an extra effort to take a special offering at church, sponsor a fundraiser, or make a love gift to missions this year. You’re making a bigger impact than you think!

To aid in fundraising, we created an additional website to solicit donations. Visit www.Mission-Reach.com to view the giving pages. There, you will find tabs for general gifts, Caleb’s Dollar, Special Projects, or give to specific fields that you love. As we receive special project requests from the fields, they will be placed on the website with regular updates. You will see how the project is progressing and set up recurring gifts. You can create a secure account to manage your giving, get updates, and receive immediate documentation of your giving. This is an ongoing project site, so check it regularly to stay informed of new projects.

Would you consider:

· Taking a special mission offering at church, auxiliary, or bible study class?

· Making a faith pledge to support a congregation or pastor on a field ($250/month)?

· Making a one-time gift to the general fund to support missional efforts?

· Establishing a Caleb’s Dollar program for your children’s church, Vacation Bible School, or youth group to teach children and youth about Missions and help feed children in Liberia?

· Plan a missions rally at your church. Join others in your area for a rally.

· Commit to tithe to missions a portion of your church's special project or program?

Original Free Will Baptist International exists to be the extended arm of your congregation to reach the world for Christ. Our combined efforts help individuals like you do what you cannot do alone. THANK YOU for partnering with us, and THANK YOU for allowing us to serve you and your congregation.

With gratitude,
