This Discipleship Award Program is sponsored by the OFWB Christian Education Ministry. The purpose of the Awards Program is to encourage discipleship throughout our denomination. We believe that Jesus calls each of us to not only be His disciple but make disciples. This is how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is spread and how we win souls for The Kingdom. The funds for these awards could be used to further the education of the
recipient in some way to make them more proficient in their calling as a disciple maker. The funds could also be used to purchase Bible Studies or literature for classes within the recipient’s church or used to promote and encourage students to become more active and better learners of the word. The funds can be used to evangelize personally or collectively within the church and community or however the recipients see fit to promote and advance the work of the Kingdom of Christ.
Who would qualify for this award? Anyone who teaches, leads, or plays a significant role in Sunday School, Bible Studies, Small Groups, Youth Groups, or Men’s or Ladies Discipleship Programs. If this person understands the role of discipleship and they are not only being a disciple but playing an active role in making disciples, then they would be a candidate for this award. However, it is designed for the laity of the church. This would be for anyone who is not in a paid position of the church.
Each award carries a monetary gift and a plaque. The recipients will be named at our Annual Christian Education Banquet. The 2026 Banquet will be held at LaGrange OFWB Church on Aug. 17, 2026, at 6:00 pm. Each nominee will also be recognized at the banquet with a certificate and a special gift of appreciation.
The selection of Discipleship Award recipients will be decided by an anonymous committee chosen by the director. When the committee receives the nominations, all references that would identify the nominee are blacked out. The decision is based solely on their qualifications.
Nominations can be submitted by anyone in the church. However, each nomination must be accompanied by TWO letters of recommendation: one from the pastor and one from a leader or a student. To simplify the process, only two letters are attached to each nomination form upon submission to the committee. Please be mindful and select the two best letters when submitting your nominations.
Nomination forms can be obtained by requesting them from Gail Heath at the Christian Education Ministry office, or you may also download additional forms from our website at www.ofwbchristianeducation.org.
Please designate one person to submit all nomination forms and letters of recommendation.
ALL FORMS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY JULY 22, 2026,
AND RECEIVED IN OUR OFFICE BY JULY 27, 2026.
