Experience one unforgettable afternoon of music at the University of Mount Olive Fall Festival on Saturday, November 16, as contemporary Christian artists Consumed By Fire with special guests Caleb & John bring their Walk with Jesus Tour to town. This powerful event, proudly sponsored by Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company, promises to offer uplifting music with attendees singing along to their popular hits.  “You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity featuring some of today's most passionate voices in contemporary Christian music,” said Dr. Twyla Wells, Vice President of University Advancement.

CONSUMED BY FIRE

Contemporary Christian music band Consumed By Fire is made up of three brothers from Oklahoma, Caleb, Jordan, and Josh Ward. The brothers are living out God’s calling on their lives through their honed musical gifts. “First Things First,” the band’s current radio single, is evidence of their family bond and love for their earthly and heavenly fathers. Other well-known hits include “Goodbye Old Me,” “Walk with Jesus,” and “Walk Through the Fire.” Set to take the stage at 5 PM, the Consumed By Fire Walk with Jesus Fall 2024 Tour is the grand finale of an entire afternoon of music at the University of Mount Olive’s Fall Festival.

CALEB & JOHN

New contemporary Christian music singers and songwriters Caleb and John have created their own sound with high-energy vocals paired with vibrant instrumentals. Their music has been called hopeful and fun, reflecting the true spirit of the artists. Their popular songs include “Somebody Like Me” and “Hallelujah Feeling.”

MORE MUSICAL ACTS

Bluegrass artist Luke Shamblin & Friends will perform from 3:45 to 4:30 PM. UMO alumnus and Carolina Country Music Artist of the Year Erik Hawks will take the stage from 2:45 to 3:15 PM. Local up-and-coming country talent Zack Lee will perform from noon to 12:45 PM, and UMO’s very own Music Choirs, Carolina Sound, and the Free Spirit Alumni Choir will perform from 1:10 to 2:45 PM.

“This truly will be an awesome opportunity to see many wonderful musical artists from a variety of genres in one place for one low ticket price,” said Wells. She notes that the University’s Fall Festival is part of the 2024 Homecoming & Pickle Classic Weekend dubbed “Celebrating the Art & Soul of UMO.” “Music is a common denominator,” Wells said. “It brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. We can’t wait to have our beautiful campus commons filled with music and memories in the making.”

Tickets can be purchased online at umo.edu/homecoming. Various food truck vendors will be on the circle in front of the Poole Administration Building so guests can purchase meals or snacks during the concert.
