Camp Vandemere Woman's Retreat 2024

Camp V-1

June 3–6, 2024 marked a wonderful time and a great success at our Woman’s Retreat at Camp Vandemere. We had a wonderful group of campers for the week. Our Bible study was led by Linda Herring of White Oak Grove FWB Church of LaGrange, NC each morning. Our theme for the week was “Ennie Meeny Miny Mo.”

On Tuesday afternoon we used the Wintergreen Church bus to travel to Oriental for some shopping. Our bus driver was Rev. Calvin Heath, Pastor of Wintergreen Church.

We had visitors from several churches and a guest speaker to bring our evening message each night. On Monday night, the Rev. Calvin Heath spoke, and Mark Beach and Donald Hopkins blessed us with several beautiful songs.

Tuesday night we were honored with a message by the Rev. Reese Blanchett of Fort Barnwell Missionary Baptist Church. Special music was provided by The Juniper Five from Juniper Chapel FWB Church. On Wednesday night the message was brought by the Rev. Bobby Owens from Chocowinity and special music was provided by Walk By Faith from Wintergreen Church. On our last day, our worship service was conducted by the Rev. Mike Scott of Juniper Chapel.

We had a short scripture and blessing each morning provided by Melinda Pridgen and Susan Brinkley.

We want to thank the Rev. Edwin Roman and the Camp Vandemere staff for the great meals and wonderful homemade desserts they provided, and for making our Thursday Lunch Banquet so special. We also want to give heartfelt thanks to all who helped to make our Woman’s Retreat a great success, including Linda Webber (pianist) and Joy Guthrie (music director).
